SPIRIT ATTACHMENT AND RELEASE

The Spirit Realm, in essence, is a reflection of the Physical, where we have good/benign/kind beings, neutral beings and downright evil, nasty beings. The benign beings will guide, support and help us if they are asked, but the evil ones will often look for a chance to exert their influence uninvited.

Your energy field is protected by your aura (a bit like a suit of armour), but if your aura is damaged spirits can attach, a bit like parasites and microorganisms can affect our physical bodies.

Although spirit attachment is very common, many people get freaked out when the concept is mentioned. I would say around 60% of clients who come to me for healing have spirit attachments, but once they are identified it is a fairly straightforward process to release them.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF SPIRIT ATTACHMENT

• EARTHBOUND SPIRITS-these are the most common entities I find attached to people. They are ordinary people who have lost their way to the Light, or have missed the window of opportunity to go to the Light, so they attach to the nearest physical body.
• DEMONIC SPIRITS-these are very unusual in‘normal people’unless the person is involved in Satanism, or has family or friends involved in Satanism. Demonic possession normally involves ‘networks’ of these beings affecting whole families or likeminded groups.
• PAST LIFE PERSONALITY- if a past life personality was very ‘strong’ either in a good or bad way, or if the past life personality suffered great trauma, the ‘memory’ of that personality may remain with the person in their current life as an attachment. • SUBSTANCE SPIRITS-Certain types of plants, particularly hallucinogenic or addictive varieties have a plant spirit associated with them, for example, ayahuasca and tobacco. Carlos Castaneda described ‘Mescalito’, the being associated with Mescal in his writing. I have found that smokers always have a tobacco spirit attached to them, along with an agreement for it to be there. When the spirit and the agreement are removed, the addiction should be far easier to deal with and combat.
• EARTH SPIRITS-often describing themselves as gnomes, imps or trolls, these beings can be huffy, grumpy and mischievious but not dark or malignant.
• SUBPERSONALITY- These generally exist in pairs of opposites, with the tendencies of one balancing out the other eg. Well behaved/badly behaved, virgin/prostitute etc. Sometimes strong emotions, like anger, can be subpersonalities if not released and processed healthily.
• TERMINATED PREGNANCY-Whether by accident or intentionally, a terminated pregnancy often results in the attachment of the unborn spirit. It may attach to the mother, or to the next embryo as it develops within the mother. A terminated twin may attach to the body of the surviving twin.

WHAT CAUSES SPIRITS AND ENTITIES TO ATTACH?

In order for a spirit or entity to attach, you must match its vibration. Since most attaching entities are lower vibration, any time you are ill, depressed, stressed, traumatised or otherwise compromised you are going to be at risk of attachment. Here are some of the most common situations where attachment is likely:

• HOSPITALISATION-Hospitals are very ‘busy’ places in terms of recently deceased souls, and often these confused souls latch on to the nearest body. Often when I speak to these spirits during release, they talk about being attracted to a person’s light. Medics, police, firefighters, nurses and ambulance drivers are all very vulnerable to spirits attaching, as they are usually the ones attending at death scenes.
• PREGNANCY TERMINATION OR STILLBIRTH-I discussed this earlier. Some souls ‘get cold feet’ about reincarnating, and decide to withdraw before the birth happens. Instead of going back to the light, they attach to someone else.
• DRUG AND ALCOHOL ADDICTION- Drug and alcohol addiction tears great holes in the aura and energy body, leaving the way clear for uninvited spirits. Earthbound spirits who have died from their own drug or alcohol addiction often latch on to other addicts in the hope that they can feel that ‘high’ again, but it doesn’t ever satisfy them.
• SATANISM/DABBLING IN BLACK MAGIC-High level Satanists use demons routinely, and often invite them into their bodies to use their power. I have released demonic spirits from people who had been into black occultism hundreds of years ago in a past life. These very malignant spirits had stayed with them right through to their current lifetime, and had it not been for the devastating effect they were having on their current life, they would never have known. I have written about this before in my blogs.
• SEVERE TRAUMA-Many spirits attach to people during childhood, particularly if the child has been abused. Other trauma, such as combat, accident or rape can open the person to attachment.
• GRIEF-Grief deserves a special mention, because nothing holds a departing spirit back like the intense emotion from a grieving family member, especially if that person has made a vow to always be by your side. • STRONG NEGATIVE EMOTIONS-Since entities can only attach if they are vibrating at the same frequency as us, it stands to reason that if you are feeling depressed, sad, angry or anxious you are at risk of attachment.
• PAST LIFE ATTACHMENT-It is common to find spirits attached from past life relationships, either friends or old lovers. Vows we make in any life are very binding, so saying ‘I’ll never leave you’ to someone can have unexpected repercussions. These vows often tie people together through a series of lifetimes until the vow is lifted.
• FAUSTIAN AGREEMENT-I have already touched on this with Satanism, but selling your soul to the Devil is-and was- a real thing. See my blog ‘SOUL LOSS AND RETRIEVAL’ for an example of this.
• LEY LINES, SACRED PLACES AND PORTALS- Getting into the realms of ‘woo woo’, there are spirits that like the energy of ley lines and sacred places. Unfortunately, many of these places have, over time, become polluted with very dark energy, so the entities that are attracted to them are also dark. If you live on one of these ley lines, the dark entities using their energy can sometimes attach. Portals also exist between our world and the lower astral realm. I worked with a lady who had one such negative portal in her kitchen, which was letting through all sorts of malicious entities. These entities were making her family’s lives a misery, but when it was closed and removed, the entities disappeared.

WHAT CAN I DO TO PREVENT SPIRIT ATTACHMENT?

Unless you are very aware of your own energy it is unlikely that you would realise if you had a spirit attachment, but there are several ways you can protect yourself. See my blog on ‘SPIRITUAL HYGIENE AND ENERGY CLEANSING’ for some suggestions.

Attached spirits are very good at hiding, and like everything else, if they don’t show up immediately during a healing session, they will definitely come up somewhere down the line.

It is my belief that all spirits have a spark of the Divine in them, and they all deserve to be treated with respect (even the demonic ones). I generally find that the overwhelming majority of entities are grateful and happy to be taken to the Light, and I get the added bonus of helping their soul’s evolution, as well as healing my client!
