I spoke to Catherine again just after the first anniversary of Duncan’s death, to see how things were going and how she was coping. She told me that it had been a struggle, but she had got through it with the support of her family, and had even gone back to Cyprus on her own for a holiday. She felt close to Duncan there, because it was where they had been happiest.

However, things were not good. She arranged to come for a third hypnosis session, and explained that she was suffocating under a huge black cloud of loneliness. ‘It’s eating me up from the inside. I see friends and family, but my life is unbearably lonely and I feel I’m slipping back to the way I was after Duncan died.’ She explained.

She was talking to Duncan’s photo all the time and trying to work through her pain, but there was an enormous hole in her heart which nothing could fill. She still felt angry that Duncan had been taken from her, and wanted to understand why it had happened.

I suggested we do the regression to the origin of the decision by Duncan to leave, and hopefully with the question answered, it would give her some closure.

I regressed Catherine back not to a past life, but to where she was before her soul entered her current life. As we went back and back, she exclaimed ‘Duncan’s here to meet me!’

I asked Duncan to take Catherine to where her questions would be answered, and she described a beautiful, tall white building with many pillars and columns and steps up to a huge doorway. It was the Akashic Hall of Records, where everyone’s lives- past, present and future- are recorded.

There were people in long white robes milling about, and an old man with long hair and a beard came and took Catherine over to a lectern. He told her that he was the Keeper of the Records, and that the heavy, brown leather-bound book on the lectern was hers to look at. It had never been opened.

Catherine described how beautiful it was, with gold-edged pages and immaculate calligraphy. She told the Keeper that she wasn’t interested in any past lives: she wanted to see her current life from where Duncan had come in. As he pulled back more and more pages, she saw her full name and date of birth, beautifully written on its own page.

The Keeper told her that she and Duncan were given the tools to do what they did, and that they fulfilled their destiny together. They looked after each other, and were kind to other people. Catherine began to relive Duncan leaving, and asked ‘Why was he taken so early?’

At this point, Duncan came forward and said ‘We arranged it before coming into this life. It was my time to go. YOU asked for this. You wanted to experience loneliness and being on your own. Everything that has come to pass, you asked for. It’s time for your soul to grow on its own now.’

I asked Catherine what she had learned since Duncan had passed, and she answered ‘Compassion. Compassion for everything, even a flower.’

The Keeper showed her a blank page and said ‘It’s yours to be written. You gave yourself a free hand- this is what you wanted. You wanted to be set free like a bird. You wanted the feeling of being on your own, but it’s your choice. Now you don’t like it.’

Catherine’s Higher Self was then brought forward to speak to her, and she expressed her concern with how Catherine was coping with this lesson of loneliness. She said that Catherine was good at hiding her pain, but that although she was fighting not to slide back to where she was, she was vegetating and going downhill because of it. This was the first lifetime she had ever felt loneliness.

I asked if we could remove the pain and loneliness in her heart to help her move forward, and her Higher Self began clearing all the darkness away. We put some beautiful loving energy in its place.

She told us that a new man was going to come into Catherine’s life and take the loneliness away. This was not meant to happen for a while, but her Team in Spirit decided that it needed to be brought forward to stop Catherine descending any further into her pain.

Her Higher Self explained that her loneliness would push her forward to a new stage of her life, and through her new partner and his family, she would be guided to her destiny.

She was told that her Soul Purpose in this life was to be there to help lonely old people to pass over, old people in care homes who had no family to be there with them at the end. Had she not felt and experienced loss and loneliness herself, she would not be equipped to do it. ‘You will help them pass over with a smile!’ her Higher Self said.

Duncan then came in to speak to her, and he told her that he had a hand in picking the new man, because he wants her to be happy. It was pre-ordained. ‘What do you do all day?’ Catherine asked.

He explained that he still has lots of healing to do, but he won’t be able to do that until Catherine is settled on the right path. On the Spirit side, he hasn’t been given a job yet, but he has been visiting old friends. He explained that Catherine is part of his healing, as he is hers. ‘She touches me everywhere. I adore her- I always have, and always will.’

He finished the session by explaining that they had been together since the beginning of time. They are Twin Flames, two halves of the same soul. Not only is this very rare, but it is even rarer that they have a perfect union…
